Target Information
Beta amyloid is a 40–43 amino acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein by gamma-secretase.
Beta Amyloid (1–40) (Abeta 40) and Beta Amyloid (1–42) (Abeta 42) are two major C-terminal variants constituting the majority of amyloid beta proteins.
Both alloforms are major components of extracellular plaques found in Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue.
