• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
• For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum, purified and partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase (Calf intestine). Cross-reactivity against Alkaline Phosphatase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined. No reaction was observed against the bacterial form of the enzyme.

Target Information

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a homodimeric enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms per monomer essential for catalytic function, optimally active at alkaline pH.
It is found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, maintaining similar functions but structurally adapted to each organism’s environment.
ALP plays a key role in liver metabolism and skeletal development. In bacteria, ALP provides inorganic phosphate, and in yeast, it serves as a useful protein for studying membrane protein sorting.
