Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.

Anti-Deoxyribonuclease I is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified or partially purified Deoxyribonuclease I (Bovine Pancreas).
Cross-reactivities against DNase I from other sources may occur but have not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Internucleosomal DNA fragmentation following activation of endonucleases is a common endpoint of apoptosis.
DNase I, a Ca²⁺/Mg²⁺-dependent endonuclease expressed in mammalian tissues, mediates internucleosomal DNA degradation during apoptosis.
DNase I is highly polymorphic, with at least six known alleles.
DNase II, an acidic deoxyribonuclease, acts downstream of caspase activation and may also induce DNA digestion during apoptosis.
DNase I cleaves DNA to 5′-phosphodinucleotide and 5′-phosphooligonucleotide end-products, whereas DNase II generates 3′-phosphomononucleotide and 3′-phosphooligonucleotide end-products.
DNase II is typically cytoplasmic, while DNase I is concentrated in nuclei of epithelial and fiber cells.
