Target Information
MUPP1 (multi PDZ domain protein 1, MPDZ) was identified as an interacting partner with the 5-HT2C receptor and co-localizes with 5-HT2A or 5-HT2C receptors in mouse brain regions, including the choroid plexus. MUPP1 contains 13 PDZ domains and is concentrated in tight junctions of polarized epithelial cells, binding to claudin-1 and junctional adhesion molecule (JAM). It functions as a multivalent scaffold protein that recruits various proteins to tight junctions and may play a role in tight junction barrier function.
