Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels are a complex class of ion channels with diverse physiological roles, including regulation of neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume.
KCNH1 encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, subfamily H. It acts as a pore-forming (alpha) subunit of a voltage-gated, non-inactivating delayed rectifier potassium channel. KCNH1 is activated during myoblast differentiation and is highly expressed in brain and myoblasts. Overexpression of KCNH1 may promote tumor cell proliferation. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
