Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with human CD10. CD10 is a widely-expressed cell-surface metalloprotease responsible for the cleavage of multiple peptide hormones at target tissues. CD10 is also a common marker for acute lymphocytic leukemia.
Target Information
CD10 (Common Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Antigen, CALLA) is a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity that inactivates a variety of biologically active peptides.
It is expressed on:
- Lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphomas
- Immature B cells in adult bone marrow
- Cells from patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML)
- Breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts
- Kidney and gut epithelial brush border cells
CD10 is a 100 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. The 5′ untranslated region of the CD10 gene is alternatively spliced, resulting in four separate mRNA transcripts. Diseases associated with CD10 dysfunction include spinocerebellar ataxia 43 and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
