Target Information
ALOX5AP is a protein required for leukotriene synthesis together with 5-lipoxygenase. Leukotrienes, metabolites of arachidonic acid, are involved in inflammatory responses such as asthma, arthritis, and psoriasis. This protein localizes to the plasma membrane. Inhibitors of ALOX5AP impede translocation of 5-lipoxygenase to the cell membrane and inhibit its activation.
