Product Specific Information

Description:
The PC61.5 antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα). CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineages and by activated mature T and B lymphocytes. It binds IL-2 with low affinity alone but forms a high-affinity receptor when associated with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain). The PC61.5 antibody inhibits IL-2 binding to both receptor classes and plays a role in lymphocyte differentiation and activation.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize by titration for best performance.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain, IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor subunit involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The high-affinity IL2 receptor complex consists of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG. IL2 is primarily produced by mature T cells and functions as a growth and differentiation factor, and regulator of cell death. Disruption of IL2RA in mice leads to immune dysregulation resembling ulcerative colitis, indicating its role in immune response modulation.
