Mouse anti-rat CD68, clone ED1 recognizes the rat ED1 antigen, a heavily glycosylated protein of approximately 90–110 kDa, also known as rat CD68 (Dijkstra et al., 1985).
Target Information
CD68 (Macrosialin) is a 110 kDa integral membrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed in intracellular lysosomes of monocytes and macrophages, and to a lesser extent in dendritic cells and granulocytes.
It is involved in phagocytic activities, both intracellularly and extracellularly, and is expressed in interdigitating reticulum cells, histiocytic lymphomas, AML, and granulocytic sarcomas. Elevated CD68 expression has been reported in CD34+ cells from various human malignancies, including several AML studies.
