Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
ATG5 (Autophagy Related 5) is a key component of autophagy and plays an important role in apoptosis. It is involved in:
- Mitochondrial quality control after oxidative damage
- Negative regulation of innate antiviral immune response
- Lymphocyte development and proliferation
- MHC II antigen presentation and adipocyte differentiation
Following conjugation to ATG12, the complex participates in autophagosome formation. ATG5 contributes to autophagic cell death by interacting with FADD and forms a cup-shaped isolation membrane that detaches before or after autophagosome completion.
ATG5 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as spinocerebellar ataxia.
