Target Information

A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and localize the holoenzyme to specific cellular compartments.
AKAP10 interacts with both type I and type II regulatory subunits of PKA, functioning as a dual-specific AKAP. It is highly enriched in mitochondria and contains RGS domains in addition to a PKA-RII subunit-binding domain. These features suggest roles in PKA and G protein signal transduction.
