The immunogen used is recombinant human XPF protein.
Target Information
The structure-specific ERCC1/XPF endonuclease complex is involved in DNA repair mechanisms, including nucleotide excision repair (NER) for UV-induced lesions and bulky chemical adducts, as well as recombination repair of interstrand cross-links.
In mammalian cells, XPG cleaves 3′ of the DNA lesion, while the ERCC1/XPF complex makes the 5′ incision. This complex likely plays a role in processing recombination intermediates.
