Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cell-surface glycoprotein found on melanoma cells. It shares sequence similarity and iron-binding properties with members of the transferrin superfamily. The biological role of its iron-binding function has not yet been identified. This gene is located in the same region of chromosome 3 as other transferrin superfamily members. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants.
