Target Information
The LILRB3 gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, located at chromosomal region 19q13.4. The encoded protein is a subfamily B class receptor containing two or four extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and two to four cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs).
This receptor is expressed on immune cells, binds to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells, and transduces a negative signal that inhibits immune stimulation. It helps regulate inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity, focusing the immune response and limiting autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
