Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and are composed of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H.
NF-L (light chain) runs on SDS-PAGE at approximately 70 kDa, while NF-H (heavy chain) runs between 180–220 kDa depending on species.
These proteins are involved in maintaining neuronal caliber and are expressed in a tissue-specific and developmentally regulated manner.
