Target Information
A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell.
AKAP4 (also known as hAKAP82) is a major sperm fibrous sheath protein localized along the flagellum of human sperm. It is involved in sperm motility and signal transduction regulation.
AKAP4 has also been suggested as a potential biomarker for breast cancer.
