Sin1은 S. pombe의 SIN1 인간 상동체로 처음 확인되었습니다. MAPKAP1은 MEKK2의 활성화 및 이합체화를 억제하여 JNK1/2, ERK1/2, p38 및 ERK5 MAPKs 경로를 차단하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 TOR 신호 전달 과정에서 세포 성장과 증식 조절에 관여하며, TOR/rictor 복합체 유지에 도움을 주어 Akt의 특이적 인산화를 유도합니다. 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱된 MAPKAP1 이소폼이 확인되었습니다.
