Target Information
This gene encodes a protein identified in a screen for genes expressed in metastatic cells, particularly mammary adenocarcinoma cell lines. Expression correlates with metastatic potential in certain carcinomas but is also found in normal tissues.
The protein is associated with transcription regulation through chromatin remodeling and may be part of a nucleosome remodeling deacetylase complex (NuRD). It contains domains for DNA binding, dimerization, and methylation-related functions.
