Anti-BOVINE ALBUMIN (RABBIT) Antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum through delipidation, salt fractionation, ion exchange chromatography, and dialysis. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified or partially purified Bovine Serum Albumin. Cross-reactivity with albumin from other species may occur but has not been determined.
Target Information
Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein comprising about half of blood serum protein. It functions as a carrier for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and helps stabilize extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is a globular, unglycosylated serum protein with a molecular weight of approximately 65,000. Synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin, it undergoes peptide cleavage in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi to form mature secreted albumin.
