The Human NRP-1 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures NRP-1 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create customized multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of a target protein. These assays enable simultaneous quantitation of multiple proteins using a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other fluids.

The Luminex beads used in ProcartaPlex assays are dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating spectrally unique bead signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Each bead is conjugated with antibodies specific to a single target protein, enabling multiplexed detection via biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead, allowing free-floating reactions in solution. The Luminex instrument uses dual lasers—one to identify bead type and another to quantify RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration. This enables profiling of more targets with less sample and time compared to standard ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for multiple species, including human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
