NTRK2와 BDNF는 시냅스 기능 및 장기 강화(long-term potentiation)를 조절하며, 중추 및 말초 신경계의 발달과 유지에 관여합니다.
TrkB는 신경영양인자 결합 후 자가 인산화 및 MAPK 경로 구성요소를 인산화하여 세포 분화 신호를 유도합니다.
TrkB 유전자의 변이는 비만 및 기분 장애와 연관되어 있으며, 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 존재합니다.
