Target Information
Peroxisomal multifunctional enzyme type 2는 인간의 HSD17B4 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질로, peroxisomal β-oxidation 경로에서 지방산 대사에 관여하는 이중 기능 효소입니다.
이 효소는 straight-chain 및 2-methyl-branched-chain 지방산으로부터 3-ketoacyl-CoA 중간체를 형성하는 촉매 역할을 합니다.
이 유전자의 결함은 peroxisomal fatty acid β-oxidation 활성에 영향을 주며, D-bifunctional protein deficiency (DBPD)의 원인이 됩니다.
염색체 8에 이 유전자의 유사유전자(pseudogene)가 존재하며, 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다.
