Product Specific Information

  • MA1-74228 is specific for human CD172a (SIRP alpha).
  • Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water. After reconstitution, store undiluted at 4°C in the dark.
  • For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
  • Mouse anti-human CD172a antibody, clone 15-414 recognizes signal-regulatory protein alpha, a receptor-type transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on myeloid cells such as granulocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages, mast cells, and hematopoietic stem cells.

Target Information

SIRP alpha (CD172a, signal-regulatory protein alpha) is a receptor-type transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on cells of myeloid origin, including granulocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages, mast cells, and hematopoietic stem cells.
It acts as a substrate for activated tyrosine kinases (EGFR, PDGFR, src, insulin receptor) and negatively regulates receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling pathways.
Binding of SIRP alpha to CD47 leads to phosphorylation of ITIM motifs and recruitment of tyrosine phosphatases SHP-1 and SHP-2, influencing macrophage phagocytosis inhibition and T cell/DC activation.
SIRP alpha regulates cellular responses to serum, growth factors, insulin, oncogenes, growth hormones, and adhesion, playing roles in physiological and pathological processes.
Cancer cells highly express CD47, activating SIRP alpha and inhibiting macrophage-mediated destruction of tumor cells.
