DIRAS3는 ras superfamily에 속하는 유전자로, 정상 난소 및 유방 상피세포에서 발현되지만 난소 및 유방암에서는 발현되지 않습니다.
이 유전자는 부계 대립유전자에서 단일 대립유전자 발현을 보이며, 성장 억제와 관련된 imprinting gene입니다.
따라서 DIRAS3는 암 억제 기능이 결손된 잠재적 종양 억제 유전자로 간주됩니다.
