This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Eukaryotes produce three distinct classes of RNA polymerases: Pol I, Pol II, and Pol III.
- Pol I transcribes rRNA genes for the precursor of the 28S, 18S, and 5.8S ribosomal RNA molecules.
- Pol II transcribes protein-encoding genes into mRNA and snRNA genes into snRNAs involved in RNA processing.
- Pol III transcribes 5S rRNA and all tRNA genes.
Each RNA polymerase complex is assembled from 9 to 15 subunits. The RPB6 and RPB8 subunits are shared among all three polymerases.
