Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases (IDH) catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes are divided into NAD(+)-dependent and NADP(+)-dependent subclasses.
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases are known: three mitochondrial NAD(+)-dependent and two NADP(+)-dependent forms, with one mitochondrial and one cytosolic isozyme.
The IDH1 gene encodes the cytoplasmic and peroxisomal NADP(+)-dependent isoform, which contains a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting sequence.
This enzyme contributes to NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody specifically recognizes the IDH1 mutant R132H protein.
