Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases (IDH1) catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two subclasses, one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+) as electron acceptors.
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been identified: three NAD(+)-dependent (mitochondrial matrix) and two NADP(+)-dependent (one mitochondrial, one cytosolic).
The cytosolic NADP(+)-dependent isozyme, encoded by IDH1, is a homodimer containing a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal. It plays a role in NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic redox balance.
This antibody is specific for the IDH1 mutant R132H variant.
