Target Information

This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. The encoded subunit belongs to the SOP2 family and is similar to ARPC1A, both functioning as the p41 subunit of the Arp2/3 complex involved in actin polymerization control. The p41 subunit may play a role in structural maintenance of the complex and adapt its function to different cell types or developmental stages. It also contributes to centrosomal homeostasis as an activator and substrate of Aurora A kinase.
