This antibody detects endogenous levels of total COX10 protein.
Target Information
Defects in the COX10 gene cause mitochondrial complex IV deficiency (MT-C4D), also known as cytochrome c oxidase deficiency. This disorder affects the mitochondrial respiratory chain and exhibits a wide range of clinical manifestations, from isolated myopathy to severe multisystem disease involving multiple organs. Common features include hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, hepatomegaly, liver dysfunction, hypotonia, muscle weakness, exercise intolerance, developmental delay, and mental retardation. A subset of patients may present with Leigh syndrome.
