Perlecan은 모든 기저막과 세포 표면에 존재하는 주요 heparan-sulfate proteoglycan (HSPG)입니다. 성장인자를 저장하고 보호하는 기능을 통해 종양 세포 성장 및 전이 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한, 기본 섬유아세포 성장인자(FGF-2)의 보조 수용체로 작용하여 혈관신생 및 성장 촉진 특성을 나타냅니다. Perlecan 억제는 종양 성장과 신생혈관 형성을 현저히 감소시키며, 이를 표적으로 하는 치료법은 종양 진행 억제에 도움이 될 수 있습니다.
