Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The 26S proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex composed of two subcomplexes: a 20S core and a 19S regulator.
- The 20S core has four rings of 28 non-identical subunits (two alpha and two beta rings).
- The 19S regulator includes a base (6 ATPase and 2 non-ATPase subunits) and a lid (up to 10 non-ATPase subunits).
Proteasomes are abundant in eukaryotic cells and degrade peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent, non-lysosomal pathway. The immunoproteasome variant processes class I MHC peptides.
The PSMF1 gene encodes a protein that inhibits proteasome activation by the 11S and 19S regulators. Alternative transcript variants have been identified.
