Antibody detects endogenous levels of CUL4B only when phosphorylated at Thr48.


Target Information

CUL4B is a core component of multiple cullin-RING-based E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes that mediate ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of target proteins. It acts as a scaffold protein, positioning substrates and ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes for catalysis.
CUL4B participates in polyubiquitination of CDT1, histones H2A, H3, and H4 following radiation-induced DNA damage, and is targeted to UV-damaged chromatin by DDB2, playing a role in DNA repair and replication.
It is required for ubiquitination of cyclin E, supporting normal G1 cell cycle progression, and regulates the mTOR pathway controlling cell growth, size, and metabolism. This regulation depends on 26S proteasome function and interaction between CUL4B and MLST8.
