Target Information
CD45RO (UCHL1, ubiquitin carboxyl terminal esterase L1) is the shortest isoform of a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase, CD45 glycoprotein.
CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and promoting cell survival through integrin-mediated signal transduction.
It is also involved in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
CD45 isoforms differ in their extracellular domains but share identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
Expression varies by cell type and physiological state.
CD45RO is expressed on macrophages, CD8+ T cells, activated T cells, and myeloma cells.
