Target Information
BST2 (also known as CD317, HM1.24 antigen, DAMP-2, tetherin)은 B세포의 성장과 발달에 관여하는 막단백질입니다. BST2는 섬유아세포 세포주에서 발현되어 전구 B세포의 성장에 기여하며, B세포 발달 단계 전반에서 높은 발현을 보입니다. 또한 T세포, 단핵구, NK세포, 수지상세포, 골수종 세포에서도 단백질 수준에서 발현됩니다.
연구 결과, BST2는 인간 세포에서 레트로바이러스 방출을 억제하는 기능을 가지며, 이 기능은 HIV-1의 보조 단백질 Vpu에 의해 길항됩니다. BST2의 결핍은 Vpu가 바이러스 방출에 필요하지 않게 만들어, HIV/AIDS 치료의 잠재적 표적이 될 수 있습니다. BST2 기능 이상은 구내염(stomatitis)과도 관련이 있습니다.
