ETV1은 Ets 유전자 패밀리의 구성원으로, 5'-GGAA-3' 엘리먼트를 중심으로 하는 특정 DNA 서열을 인식하는 DNA 결합 단백질을 암호화합니다.
ER81(ETV1)은 5'-CGGAA/T-3' 모티프에 결합하며, 뇌, 고환, 폐, 심장에서 높게 발현됩니다. 또한 비장, 췌장, 대장, 소장에서 중간 수준으로 발현됩니다.
발달 과정에서 ER81은 기관 형성에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 추정됩니다. ERK-1은 ER81의 전사 활성화를, MAPKAP kinase 2는 이를 억제합니다.
