FAM132B는 출혈 후 적혈구 생성 조절자로 작용하는 철 조절 호르몬입니다. 적혈모세포에서 생성되어 간의 Hepcidin(HAMP) 발현을 억제함으로써 철 흡수 및 저장 철의 동원을 촉진합니다. 또한 지방산 흡수 관련 유전자의 전사적 상향 조절을 통해 지방세포 및 간세포의 지질 흡수를 촉진합니다.
