Target Information

SFPQ (also known as PSF) encodes a nuclear factor involved in RNA splicing and gene expression regulation.
It likely forms a heteromer with NONO and participates in DNA pairing and repair processes.
Recent studies have identified SFPQ as a downstream target of tau, showing nuclear depletion and cytoplasmic accumulation in neurons and astrocytes of Alzheimer’s disease brains.
Reduced SFPQ levels may correlate with tau pathology, suggesting its role in neurodegenerative diseases including AD.
SFPQ protein may appear as 47 kDa, 52 kDa, or 100 kDa molecules depending on cell type.
