Target Information
Synaptogyrins are a family of tyrosine-phosphorylated membrane proteins with two neuronal members (SYNGR1, SYNGR3) and one ubiquitous member (SYNGR2). SYNGR1 and SYNGR3 are synaptic vesicle proteins involved in neurotransmitter release regulation, while SYNGR2 is absent from synaptic vesicles. SYNGR1 is located on chromosome 22q13, a region linked to schizophrenia, though its direct association remains uncertain.
