PA1-9540 detects CLDN14 in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures and detects a 26 kDa protein representing CLDN14.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant CLDN14 corresponding to the chromosome 21 gene (Human).


Target Information

Tight junctions are one mode of cell-to-cell adhesion in epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, forming continuous seals around cells and acting as a barrier to solute and water movement through the paracellular space.
These junctions consist of continuous networking strands in the cytoplasmic leaflet and complementary grooves in the extracytoplasmic leaflet.
The gene encodes a claudin family member—an integral membrane protein and a component of tight junction strands.
It specifically binds to the WW domain of Yes-associated protein.
Defects in this gene cause an autosomal recessive form of nonsyndromic sensorineural deafness.
Several transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
