Target Information
PDK1 (3-phosphoinositide dependent kinase-1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase localized to the plasma membrane.
It plays a vital role in insulin-induced glycogen synthesis, PKC activation, and activation of the AGC subfamily of protein kinases.
PDK1 is involved in cellular responses to hypoxia and contributes to cell proliferation under hypoxic conditions.
It also protects cells against apoptosis induced by hypoxia and oxidative stress.
