TNFRSF14는 TNF 수용체 초가족(TNF-receptor superfamily)의 구성원으로, 헤르페스 심플렉스 바이러스(HSV) 진입의 세포 매개체로 확인되었습니다. HSV의 외피 당단백질 D(gD)가 TNFRSF14에 결합하는 것은 바이러스 진입 기작의 일부로 알려져 있습니다. TNFRSF14의 세포질 영역은 여러 TRAF 단백질과 결합하여 면역 반응을 활성화하는 신호전달 경로를 매개할 수 있습니다.
