Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
This gene encodes coagulation factor XIII B subunit. Coagulation factor XIII is the last zymogen activated in the blood coagulation cascade. Plasma factor XIII is a heterotetramer composed of 2 A subunits and 2 B subunits. The A subunits have catalytic function, while the B subunits serve as plasma carrier molecules. Platelet factor XIII consists of only 2 A subunits, identical to those of plasma origin. Upon activation by thrombin cleavage in the presence of calcium ions, plasma factor XIII dissociates its B subunits, yielding the active enzyme factor XIIIa. This enzyme catalyzes the formation of gamma-glutamyl-epsilon-lysine crosslinks between fibrin molecules, stabilizing the fibrin clot.
Factor XIII deficiency is classified as type I (lack of both A and B subunits) or type II (lack of A subunit alone), leading to lifelong bleeding tendency, defective wound healing, and habitual abortion.
