Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The enzyme system for cleavage of glycine (glycine cleavage system; EC 2.1.2.10), which is confined to the mitochondria, is composed of four protein components:
- P protein: pyridoxal phosphate-dependent glycine decarboxylase
- H protein: lipoic acid-containing protein
- T protein: tetrahydrofolate-requiring enzyme
- L protein: lipoamide dehydrogenase
Glycine encephalopathy (GCE) may be caused by a defect in any one of these enzymes.
