Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
NODAL is a TGF-beta family protein involved in cellular differentiation. It is constitutively expressed in many developing tissues and is associated with the differentiation and development of various cancers.
NODAL expression is regulated by the Notch signaling pathway, and its dysregulation contributes to aggressive metastatic behavior, particularly in melanoma.
High NODAL expression in melanoma can help determine cancer stage and metastatic progression when tested in IHC. NODAL interactions with Cripto also promote tumor progression. Overexpression of NODAL is associated with preeclamptic placenta.
