Recognizes a 14 amino acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) derived from the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus simian virus 5.
Target Information
Epitope tags provide a method to localize gene products in various cell types, study protein topology and complexes, identify associated proteins, and characterize newly identified or low-abundance proteins when protein-specific antibodies are unavailable.
The V5 epitope tag is derived from a small epitope (Pk) present on the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus of simian virus (SV5). It is typically used with all 14 amino acids (GKPIPNPLLGLDST), though shorter sequences (IPNPLLGLD) are also applicable.
