Target Information
Survivin (IAP4)은 세포사멸 억제 단백질(Inhibitors of Apoptosis Protein, IAP) 계열의 가장 작은 구성원입니다. 이 단백질은 세포 신호전달, 분열, 대사 등 다양한 기능에 관여하며, 대부분의 정상 조직에서는 낮게 발현되지만 거의 모든 인간 암에서 높게 발현됩니다. Survivin은 단일 BIR 도메인을 가지며 RING finger 도메인은 없습니다.
세포 주기 G2/M 단계에서 주기적으로 발현되며, 유사분열 시 미세소관과 결합하여 항-아폽토시스 기능을 수행합니다. Survivin-미세소관 상호작용이 손상되면 caspase-3 활성 증가로 세포사멸이 유도됩니다. 또한, 뇌 손상 후 신경세포 재생과 관련된 반응에서도 발현됩니다.
이 유전자는 최소 4가지 전사 변이체를 가지며, 그 중 3개는 완전한 형태로 확인되었습니다. Survivin의 과발현은 암세포의 비정상적인 유사분열 진행과 관련이 있습니다.
