This antibody recognizes a unique epitope “E” and does not cross-block antibodies RFB-4, CLB22/1, and CLB-BLy1.
Target Information
CD22 (BL-CAM) is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein (130–140 kDa) expressed in the cytoplasm and membrane of B-lymphocytes.
It appears early in B-cell differentiation, similar to CD19, and is expressed in mature B cells but not plasma cells.
CD22 is useful in phenotyping mature leukemias and is strongly expressed in hairy cell leukemia, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and nodular lymphocyte predominance Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but negative in classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
It preferentially binds α2,6-linked sialic acid and participates in regulation of B-cell receptor signaling via interactions with Src family kinases and cytoplasmic phosphatases.
