Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
- This antibody is predicted to react with Mouse, Rat, Rabbit, Cow, Dog, Pig, Deer, and Orangutan.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the parathyroid family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is processed to generate a protein that binds to the parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone-related peptide receptor and regulates blood calcium and phosphate levels.
Excess production causes hyperparathyroidism, leading to hypercalcemia and kidney stones.
Defective processing may result in hypoparathyroidism, causing hypocalcemia and numbness.
