Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Predicted to react with Mouse, Rat, Rabbit, Cow, Dog, Pig, Deer, and Orangutan.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the parathyroid family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is processed to generate a protein that binds to the parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone-related peptide receptor, regulating blood calcium and phosphate levels.
Excess production leads to hyperparathyroidism, which can cause hypercalcemia and kidney stones. Defective processing may result in hypoparathyroidism, associated with hypocalcemia and numbness.
