• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
• Predicted to react with Mouse, Rat, Rabbit, Cow, Dog, Pig, Deer, Orangutan.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the parathyroid family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a protein that binds to the parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone-related peptide receptor and regulates blood calcium and phosphate levels.
Excess production (hyperparathyroidism) can result in hypercalcemia and kidney stones.
Defective processing may lead to hypoparathyroidism, resulting in hypocalcemia and numbness.
